Ere Perez Cosmetics: My New Fave

Katiana

Katiana Salinas – Training & Development Manager for Ere Perez

We all know that what we put IN our body has a huge impact on the health of our skin, but how often do we stop to think about the things we are putting ON our body? If you’re anything like me, not often enough. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, mainly because it’s just not practical with the amount of exercise I do. But I thought the products I was using were good quality – I was certainly paying enough for them. [Read more…]

Top Five Tips for Healthy Summer Skin

Thaspa2

I love training outdoors for a thousand reasons, but there’s no denying a couple of minor annoyances. One is the weather (if anyone has Mother Nature’s contact details please let me know) and the other is the havoc it can wreak on my skin if I’m not careful. I’m guessing that many of you have had similar issues, so I spoke to Lisa Hody, Manager of Thaspa (my absolute fave spa in the Sydney CBD) to get her top five tips for ensuring our skin stays healthy when we’re training outdoors. If you’re in the area you should book yourself in for a treatment – you’ll walk out feeling a million bucks, I guarantee it. [Read more…]

LGF 2015 Christmas Gift Guide

It’s that time of year again! The countdown to Santa is ON and if you’re anything like me you’re starting to panic. Giving presents is in my top five favourite things to do, but it’s also probably in my top five most stressful. And because I don’t want everyone to go through the same anxiety that I do (every.single.year) I’ve put together a gift guide for the active gal. You know, gals like you and I!

Leave this open on your desktop, email it to your friends, partner, parents, all of the above. Just trust me, the products inside all have my seal of approval.

Urban Paleo – the Lazy Cook’s New Best Friend

UrbanPaleo2
So it seems that quite a few of my uni mates are kicking goals in the health and fitness industry. First, I introduced you to Georgie Smith, creator of g.luxe muesli and all its tasty offshoots. Next there was Scottie Eastburn, who’s running 14 marathons in 2014 to raise money for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.

And now I present Chris Ward – and his partner Fran Lamotte – who have created Urban Paleo, a pre-packaged Paleo meal business for those who want to eat well, but don’t have the time (or the knowledge) to cook themselves.

Review of Pelotone Indoor Cycling – Bella Vista

So, I don’t want to alarm anyone, but I found another spin class I enjoy… like, really enjoy.

Last weekend a couple of my friends and I made the trek (and I call it a trek because I know I paid at least five tolls) to Bella Vista for a class at Pelotone – Sydney’s Premier Indoor Cycle Studio. And it was totally worth it.

If you’d asked me a year ago to compile a list of my most hidden, depths-of-my-soul dreams, I don’t think I would have even been game enough to write ‘magazine feature and photo shoot’. But somehow, somewhere, someone is shining down on me, because recently I had the incredible good fortune to be part of exactly that with the fabulous team from Cosmopolitan magazine. [Read more…]

Review of Vicious Cycle – Bondi Beach

ViciousCycle1Historically I have not been the world’s biggest cycling fan. I find it highly challenging – both mentally and physically – and have a terrible habit of pretending it doesn’t exist. So when I was asked to trial Vicious Cycle in Bondi a couple of weeks ago I took it as a sign from the exercise gods that I needed to stop being such a wuss.
